Wild Edric's Way and Shropshire Walking Holidays
Dramatic landscapes, historic castles and ancient legends, Shropshire is a wonderful walking destination. Here are two holidays designed to show you Shropshire's best walks.
Wild Edric's Way takes in some of the finest Shropshire landscapes, beginning at Church Stretton and crossing the grouse moors of the Long Mynd and ending four days later in the medieval town of Ludlow. Named after 'Edric the Wild', a Saxon nobleman who owned the manors of Clun and Stokesay, he rebelled against the Normans, captured Hereford Castle and besieged Shrewsbury!
